Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What precautions do you take for COVID-19?

Our comfortable Mercedes Benz Sprinter touring van can accommodate private bubbles/families/friends up to maximum of 10. We comply with all COVID-19 safety guidelines as provided by the Office of the Chief Medical Health Officer of New Brunswick. As per our COVID operational plan, we will pre-screen all guests prior to arrival and will review updated COVID policy and protocols prior to tour departure.

What are your COVID cancellation terms?

Due to COVID-19, cancellations can be accepted up to 48 hours before your tour; however, should a change in provincial regulations necessitate a cancellation, a full refund is provided.

When do the tours operate?
We operate from early May to mid-October.

What if it rains?
All tours operate 7 days a week, rain or shine. If bad weather means we’re unable to get out and walk in designated areas–we’ll augment the tour by adding extra sites into the scenic drive itinerary.

How should we dress for the “Hopewell Rocks & Bay of Fundy” Coastal Tour?
We encourage our guests to wear comfortable and sturdy footwear that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty. Please dress in layers. Bring an all-weather jacket as the Bay of Fundy weather can be unpredictable and you may need something for warmth (even in July and August!).

Is the “Hopewell Rocks & Bay of Fundy” Coastal Tour physically demanding?
This is a very active tour and all guests must have the ability to get in and out of the vehicle frequently as well as walk at a normal to brisk pace if and when necessary. There are stairs at 2 of the main attractions although there are viewing platforms and benches available for those guests unable to navigate the stairs in the allotted time given. There are bumpy sections of road along out route. In order to safely deliver this one-of-a-kind tour in the time allowed by the tides, all guests must have these abilities. It is an amazing tour day, but a very full and active day. Due to liability issues, we cannot accommodate guests who wish to remain in the vehicle during scheduled stops.

What are the tour times?
Each tour varies. See the Private Tour page. Departure times for tours that include the Hopewell Rocks fluctuate daily as they’re aligned with the tide schedule.

Do you allow smoking on tour?
Smoking is not permitted in the vehicle. Guests may smoke in designated smoking areas, however it is not possible to smoke at all stops as this would affect our tour times. We do request guests refrain from throwing cigarette butts on the ground. We can supply tinfoil for guests to butt and wrap their cigarettes for disposal in waste receptacles.

Are children allowed on tour?
Due to safety regulations, children five and under are not permitted on tour. For children ages 6-12, however, we have a Bay of Fundy Nature Club Card where recipients are challenged to accomplish ten different tasks throughout the day based on age appropriate learnings, i.e. trivia questions, finding a specific kind of seaweed (once they learn about the different types), finding a stone with two colours, building an Inukshuk (rock person) on the beach, etc. At the end of the day, when the Bay of Fundy Nature Club Card member has completed all ten tasks, they will receive a prize!

Are meals included in the tour price?
Although arrangements for meals (i.e., where we’ll dine) are part of some tours, meal costs and any extra fees are extra. They are calculated and applied per person, over and above the basic tour price, depending upon tour occupancy.

Are there boat rides on your coastal tour?

There is no boat rides involved in our coastal tour. This is a land-based coastal tour.
