Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

When do the tours operate?
We operate from early May to mid-October.

What if it rains?
All tours operate 7 days a week, rain or shine. If bad weather means we are unable to get out and walk in designated areas–we will augment the tour by adding extra sites into the scenic drive itinerary.

How should we dress for the “Hopewell Rocks & Bay of Fundy” Coastal Tour?
We encourage our guests to wear comfortable and sturdy footwear that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty. Please dress in layers. Bring an all-weather jacket as the Bay of Fundy weather can be unpredictable and you may need something for warmth (even in July and August!).

Is the “Hopewell Rocks & Bay of Fundy” Coastal Tour physically demanding?
There is a fair bit of walking on the tour. However, because of the small size of our tours, we are able to accommodate most ability/agility levels. Most attractions provide scenic viewing areas and rest spots for guests who cannot navigate stairs. The biggest ability/agility requirement is being able to get in and out of the passenger van frequently throughout the day.

What are the tour times?
All departure times for tours fluctuate daily as they are aligned with the tide schedule. Please check our online booking system for tour times.

Do you allow smoking on tour?
Smoking is not permitted in the vehicle. Guests may smoke in designated smoking areas, however it is not possible to smoke at all stops as this would affect our tour times. We do request guests refrain from throwing cigarette butts on the ground. We can supply tinfoil for guests to butt and wrap their cigarettes for disposal in waste receptacles.

Are children allowed on tour?
Due to safety regulations, children five and under are not permitted on tour. For children aged 6-12, however, we have a Bay of Fundy Nature Club Card (that is personalized for each child) where they have to accomplish ten different tasks throughout the day based on things they are learning eg. find a specific kind of seaweed (once they learn about the different types), find a stone with 2 colors, build an inukshuk (rock person) on the beach, etc.  It usually gives the kids incentive to listen and learn throughout the day. When they complete all ten tasks they get a prize/reward at the end of the day.

Is lunch included in the tour price?
Lunch arrangements are included, however, as lunch options and sizes vary, the cost of lunch is not included in tour price and can be paid at restaurant with credit, debit, or cash.
